Different batteries for use in professional camcorders are available. DF-248 battery is mostly used in application such as video monitors (like products from SmallHD, Atomos etc.) and of course for camcorders in the semiprofessional sector. 

Some of these batteries feature a 4-level status indicator. They all have a built in protection circuit – that protects the battery and used equipment to cause over-charge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit.
